# Agenda brief

a built-in Skill. At set times of day the agent reads a person's calendars and tells them how the day looks: what is left, what collides, and where the free time is.

**Has:** one agent · the times it goes out · the agent's calendars · an output channel, or a direct message when there is none. Nothing is filed and nothing is kept: a brief is a message. Revoking the grant stops the briefs ([SKILL-SCHEDULE-FOLLOWS-GRANT](/docs/skill#skill-schedule-follows-grant)).

- Unless the tenant sets other times, a brief goes out at 07:00 and again at 12:00 ([SKILL-TIMES-IN-TENANT-TIME](https://tonoman.com/docs/skill#skill-times-in-tenant-time)).
- The times are a setting on the grant, and a change reaches the agent within seconds ([SKILL-TIMES-READ-STRICTLY](https://tonoman.com/docs/skill#skill-times-read-strictly)).
  - e.g. `06:45,11:30,16:00` → three briefs a day.
- The brief's facts are counted, not judged: what is still to come, which meetings collide and by how long, runs of three or more with no break, and free gaps of half an hour.
- Free time is looked for between 08:00 and 18:00 in the tenant's clock.
- The morning brief covers the whole day; a later one covers only what is still ahead, and says so.
- The agent writes the brief itself: how the day looks, each collision with which one it would move or decline, any stretch with no break, and the block to protect.
- A day with nothing left on it is one line, not an empty report.
- The brief never names a meeting or a time that is not on the calendars it read.
- The brief is written on the login of the person it is for ([CONVO-OWN-LOGIN](https://tonoman.com/docs/conversation#convo-own-login)).
- It reads the same calendars the recap does, from local midnight to local midnight, with nothing added either side.
- All-day entries, cancelled ones, untitled ones and titles on the tenant's block list are left out, so a day of holds does not read as a day of meetings.
- The brief is announced in the agent's output channel, or as a direct message when none is set ([RECAP-ANNOUNCED-IN-CHANNEL](https://tonoman.com/docs/meeting-recap#recap-announced-in-channel)).
- `!skill agenda-brief now` gives a brief about the moment it was asked for ([RUN-THREE-WAYS-TO-START](https://tonoman.com/docs/run#run-three-ways-to-start), [RUN-BRIEF-ALWAYS-NEW](https://tonoman.com/docs/run#run-brief-always-new)).
