# Run Tonoman on your own compute.

*Open source*

The runtime is open source. Install it on a computer you own, connect an agent to your team's chat, and give it your own skills and your own brain in git.

## Cloud or your own — the same runtime.

- **Open source, on your compute.** Unlimited agents, free. You run the runtime and the model login; Tonoman is not involved.
- **Your compute, managed from the Hub.** Enrol your machine as a worker pool with one command. Your agents run there and are managed from Tonoman Cloud — and do not count as seats.
- **Tonoman Cloud.** Always-on agents on Tonoman's compute. One is free, with unlimited skills.

## Write your own skills

A skill is code that declares the tools it needs and what it does before and after a run; the agent's part is the prompt. The [skill SDK guide](https://tonoman.com/docs/guides/skill-sdk) shows how to build one.
